Here in Arizona the desert sky is a deep, vivid blue. Many stucco or adobe buildings are painted white, cream or variations of tan or beige. This building, however was a very bright, clear yellow. Blue and yellow are primary colours, and when seen beside each other, are very eye catching. The owner of the building...a hotel...must have been aware of the impact of the yellow walls against the blue sky, and used this color to attract attention to the structure. It certainly shouted out to me to photograph it. A simple, composition of two shapes with an oblique orientation, reinforces the impact of the colour combination. To see Simone's image, please click
