theme 10 week 3: VISUAL RHYTHM

This week, at a workshop, I was photographing at a small playground on a beach. I had been shooting on the platform at the top of the slide and when I started to climb back down the stairs (no way was I going down the slide!), I noticed that there were drifts of beach sand piled up on each step. The sand against the black rubber steps created an interesting pattern, and there was visual rhythm as the steps receded downwards. The variation in the sand shapes and that the distance between the black steps appears smaller as the steps progress downward, breaks the rhythm a bit, creating more interest.
