On any given branch, leaves often grow in an orderly pattern, but a lot of branches with a lot of leaves generally present as chaotic. To simplify things I converted the image to black and white, and blew out the sky. When composing, I looked for some areas that had less leaves, to add a subtle, irregular white shapes. If I had made sure that all the leaves were evenly distributed, the result woould have been more texture-like. To me, the empty patches emphasize the chaotic nature of the configuration of the leaves. please click
