week 33

This week I felt like making a diptych; 2 images which relate in some way, presented as a single unit.
I found two photographs in my files; one a design of a spiral pattern on a woven bowl, and the other a cut-out railing with it's shadow. Both photographs were black and white and similar in terms of tone and mood. Both displayed curved lines and shapes. I felt that they complimented one another, and put them together onto a new file. Although much of the time diptyches are presented with the two components beside one another, there's no reason why they cannot be presented vertically. Since the point of a diptych is to creat a new entity which works visually as a cohesive unit, after trying out several different combinations, I felt that this presentation worked best.
