Mindf*ck

I like this image for several reasons. It was made on my iPhone...I love shooting with the phone. I can (and do) make photographs in all sorts of situations that would not be considered traditional photographic subjects. This is the sink in the bathroom at my cottage. There were shadows from the morning light streaming through the venetian blinds. They curved with the contours of the inside of the sink and then changed character as they traveled out onto on the lip of the sink and counter. Even though the sink is concave, it appears convex in the image. There is no hint of context in the image and the whole thing is very confusing. It is a mindfuck and that, in addition to the fact that I am very happy with the composition, is why I love it so much.
