One of our homework assignments for my course was to create a still life at home using items with subtle colours. We were to explore a variety of compositions using the same set up. I decided to use items that were white, and toilet paper rolls, a paper towel roll and an egg all fit the bill. Why not! These very mundane objects can be used to photograph as well as any other. I got a kick out of finding ways to shoot these ordinary things. I think this image, and the rest in the series, were the only "straight" images I made all year.
