week 14

Early this week there was enough of a snowfall to cover much of the ground. I photographed this row of small bare trees, which were on top of a hill. I wanted to create an image that resembled a stark pen and ink drawing, so I applied some creative techniques in post processing to blow out the whites in the sky and ground, and darken the trunks and branches to black. Then I digitally changed the dimensions of the image from a wide horizontal to a square, and this distorted and stretched the lines of the trunks and branches, while compressing the arrangement of trees at the same time.
