week 17

There are times when more than one photograph is necessary to tell a story. The first image in this pair is an informal portrait of a daddy and his young daughter. The second picture, shot a fraction of a second later, captures the curiosity of the baby and the surprise on her father's face as he unexpectedly gets her fingers up his nose. Presenting the two as a group says a lot more about the father-daughter relationship and the unpredictability and humour of parenthood than either shown separately.
When photographing my family, I always have my camera set to continuous burst, and carry on shooting after the "main event". Often the best things can happen seconds later.
