week 6

Initially drawn to the chaotic light patterns on the hull of this boat, and the irregular linear reflections, I decided to eliminate most of the boat itself when making this photograph. Instead, I concentrated on the curved lines of the hull and paintwork and the corresponding reflected lines as they converged at the top of the frame. The light patterns and reflections are still there and the subject remains identifiable, but the composition is much more graphic. Although the photograph is in colour, the fact that it almost appears monochromatic adds to the effect.
