When I photographed my copper vase, I composed very tightly, eliminating 3/4 of it on the right side and much of the bottom and the top. A further crop in photoshop removed the top arch of the handle. This left a composition of curved, disembodied shapes and lines, including the areas of black negative space, which are integral parts of the design.
