I photographed the wall of this building in mid afternoon on a sunny day. The orange decorative trim against the grey stucco was eye catching and had potential for making an abstract image. However, it was the dark shadow from an overhang, and the linear shadow between two stucco slabs that
contributed the most in creating the graphic composition. By carefully positioning small sections of the larger areas of contrasting colour and tone within the viewfinder, I was able to create the shapes in the composition by enclosing them within the four sides of the frame.
