week 9

This is a traditional diptych presentation of two photographs of rock patterns. The designs in the rock at Point Lobos, California, were intricate and fascinating, and I made hundreds of images there. When I examined them, I noticed how it almost seems as if the sections in the two images were physically connected; in actual fact, these photographs were made about ten feet apart. Because the colours were slightly different, I converted them to black and white for uniformity, and flipped the orientation of one of them so the design would appear to flow from one image into the other.
