week 9

WEEK 9: COTTAGE, MUSKOKA, ONTARIO
My grandchildren were tubing behind the boat, and I was photographing them from the balcony of the living space above the boathouse. Because those photographs were not being made specifically for the project, I wouldn't be able to include them here. However, as I was waiting for one of the kids to get into his lifejacket, I noticed the rope from the tube floating on the surface of the water, and how the linear shape kept changing with the current and waves. I photographed the rope between tube runs, concentrating on the changing shape of the line. It wasn't until I processed the images in Photoshop that I noticed the black shape, probably a reflection of some sort, in the upper left quadrant. It was evident in this one frame only, and I liked how it echoed the loop of the rope. That's why I selected this particular photograph for the project, out of the many others that I shot.
