WEEK 6 COTTAGE, MUSKOKA, ONTARIO
During a severe spring storm, several of our trees at the cottage were damaged, and hanging dead branches created a dangerous situation. We had a tree company come to remove those, and I wanted to shoot the men working high above in the trees. Unfortunately, it was noon and the sun was bright, making it too contrasty to get a decent photograph. Disappointed, I looked at their equipment which was scattered on the deck, and saw other photographic opportunities. The vertical and horizontal coils on this rope made an interesting pattern, so I moved it into the shade, where the light was better, got in close and made a series of design images.
